CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH on Mill Street has moved to their lot three units of portable classrooms
to help take care of their tremendous growth. This will provide temporary space for about 90 people in
Sunday School and will allow Calvary to continue to grow while plans are made and a permanent structure
is built. For the past few months Calvary has been one of the fastest growing churches in this area.
Forty members have been added to their membership in the last 25 weeks. It is possible that within
the next two years Calvary will need to more than double their present space. Chairs placed in the
wings of the sanctuary are now being used on Sunday Morning to accommodate the people at the morn
ing worship hour. These temporary classrooms will house two adult classes, two young people classes
and two Intermediate classes. Robert Dean is Superintendent of the Sunday School. Rev. Claud Healan’
Jr., Pastor of the Calvary Church said, “We rejoice as we see our church grow in every area of its
work and ministry. It is our desire to see our church and every church grow and reach out to those
who need to be reached. We at Calvary have determined by the help of God, and by working and praying
together, to grow, and we are growing.”
