THIS OLD WRECKED CAR took a lot of sledge-hammer bangs Thursday at Newton County High School*
when the Key Club collected 10? for each swing at the old car. Names of faculty members were printed;
on the car and many students took it out on their favorite “target”. Key Club members shown above:
on the wreck are Jim Allen in front seat, and (L to R): Jim Gainer, president; Sammy Ozbum, P?t^;
Carter and David Hays. The club realized S2O in the project and will donate the money to the Empty:
Stocking Fund.
Hobby Kit For
Fishing Season
H
__ .
This fisherman is deeply en
grossed in a fast growing hobby
making popping bugs, fishing
lures which can be “tailor
made” by the angler to be most
productive for every special fish
ing situation.
All the material needed to make
35 poppers of assorted sizes and
colors are in this Worth Poper
Tying Kit. Included are a vise,
genuine cork in assorted shapes
and sizes for bodies, hooks,
wrapping wire, streamer feath
ers, shellac, wax bottles of paint
in various colors and a paint
brush.
Tying poppers, like making
flies and other lures, is a fine
hobby for persons of all ages and
both sexes. It provides a year
aroung outlet for creative
energies using the finest pro
fessional material. It is a fine
way, too, to make the “fishing
season” last all year. Many
women fashion decorative pins
from popper kits, using a safety
pin instead of a hook for easy at
taching to sports clothing and ac
cessories.
The big payoff comes when a
lunker takes the angler--made
lure as it would any other.
Kits such as these make ex
cellent gifts for birthdays,
Christmas, Father’s Day and
numerous other occasions.
The Worth Popper Tying Kit
retails for $7.95. Kits for making
lures, flies and jigs also are
available.
From the Worth Company In
Stevens Point, Wisconsin 54481.
Fir Foremost
Douglas fir is the country’s
most important tree, as the big
gest producer of lumber and ply
wood for homes and other uses.
More than one - third of the
West’s sawtimber is Douglas fir.
The four major western pines
add up to about 22 percent.
