Annual Christmas Party At Aidmore

at the Annual Christmas Party at Aidmore Hospital on Sunday, Dec
ember 15. Thirty children at the hospital enjoyed the party with Ch
ristmas Carols being sung as well as Santa Claus being present to dis
tribute gifts to the children. Refreshments were served by the three
auxiliaries in the metropolitan area to complete the happy occasion
for the honorees.
Mrs. Reeves Visits Elkadettes
Mrs. Bill Reeves of Griffin,
State Vice President of the Geo
rgia Elks Aidmore Auxiliary, was
guest speaker recently of the
Covington Auxiliary. She was in
troduced by Mrs. Lula Vaughn.
Mrs. Reeves gave a most int
eresting talk on Aidmore Hos
pital and urged the Auxiliary
to have a membership drive.

Was Enjoyable Occasion

o’clock.

special greetings immediately
caught their attention. The old,
old town of Bethlehem was re
created and appropriately lighted
for the backdrop before which the
student body and faculty of Por
terdale School recited the Christ
mas Story from Luke’s Gospel
and sang. Fourth grades recited
a choral reading.

candelabra with green tapers,
two choirs, directed by Herbert
Burch and R. L. Clements, lif
ted their voices in joyous praise.
Miss Cathy Edwards, soloist
rendered “0 Holy Night” and R.
L. Clements thrilled everyone
with “How Great Thou Art.”
Around the twenty-seven foot
lighted tree towering heaven
ward, twenty-five angels with
the Herald Angel, Jan Cason,
formed the angelic host to add
beauty and participate through
Scripture and song.

News of the Saviour’s Arrival

was written and directed by Miss
Mae Hardman, Social Worker,
and narrated by B. C. Crowell,
Athletic Director. Characters
in pantomime were; Shepherds
-C. T. Bohanan, C. C. Hood,
Dewey Sears, James Singley, Bu
tch Woodruff; Mary - Karen 911-
rah; Joseph - Larry King; Wise
Men -Jimmy Edwards, Wallace
Edwards, and J. V. Norwood, who
also sang “We Three Kings”.
Rev. Boozer was the Census
Taker and the Rev. Harold Lyda
read Matthew’s presentation of
the great birth. Rev. H. N.
Earnest gave the invocation.
H. D. Stroud, General Superin
tendent of Porterdale Division,
expressed appreciation for par
ticipation and attendance and ex
tended wishes for a happy holi
day season from the Bibb Manu
facturing Company. John Holder,
General Superintendent of the
Macon, Porterdale, and Newnan
Divisions, and his family were
welcomed guests.
Fruit boxes which were ar
ranged in artistic pyramid - ef
fect on the floor of the gym
nasium were distributed to all
children, ages 1-12 of employees
at Porterdale and to retirants
who also shared the observance
of Christmas at this time.
