Baptist Men’s Day last Sun=
day started early for the men
of the Calvary Baptist Church
with a 7 a. m, breakfast at the
Crest Restaurant. The breakfast
was hosted by the Baptist Men’s
Organization and each member
invited at least one member of
the Royal Ambassadors. Other
guests included several men and
boys not presently members of
these two organizations.
Despite the heavy rain and se=
veral members bitten by the flu
bug, 40 men and boys were there
to enjoy the fellowship and food.
Walter Whitaker, member of the
Monticello Baptist Church, was
guest speaker for the breakfast.
Morning services atthe church
were conducted by the laymen,
with a mens choir and messages
brought by Bill Daws and Tony
Webb.
Forrest Turner, speaker for
the evening service was unable
to be there, due to severalunfor
tunate mishaps of misdirections
to the church. However, he spoke
to the fellowship gathering, held
immediately after the evening
service, Mr. Turner has promi
sed to return and speak in March,
now that he knows where our ch=
urch is located.
The pastor, Rev. Claud Healan,
stepped in and delivered the even=
ing message, proving not only that
he isafine pastor butalsoa mem=
ber in good standing of the Baptist
Mens Organization.
