Tech Meets
® ®
Rice Tonight
ATLANTA (Special) — Geor=
gia Tech Basketball Coach Whack
Hyder had mixed emotions about
his team’s 73-66 loss to Ohio
State Monday night.
He hopes to have only one
feeling, the pleasant satisfaction
of winning, when Tech meets
Rice at 8 p. m. Thursday in
Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
“«] was pleased with our great
effort, but I feel bad and hurt,
too,” Hyder said after the Yel
low Jackets, 4-8, came close to
upsetting the big ten front run=-
ners, 10-2. I know what a
lift it would have given our team
if we had been able to win.”
The Jackets, with junior guard
John Veryzer making his first
start and moving the offense
like a veteran, played sharper
basketball than they had in weeks.
Stellar sophomore pivot Rich
Yunkus was held in check for the
second straight contest, but this
time forward Bob Seemer took
up the slack by hitting seven of
nine field goal attempts and fin=
ishing with 19 points.
Tech, behind 36-32 at inter
mission, rallied in the second
half and took a 64=-63 lead with
three minutes left before the
Buckeyes’ final decisive spurt.
Rice, on a rebuilding pro=-
gram under third-year coach Don
Knodel, tripped talented Florida
State 83-80 Monday, but lost to
Southern Methodist 101-80 Satur=
day. The Jackets clobbered SMU
87-59 early in December. Tech
will host Hawaii Saturday.

Beneath Delta’s jet rotundas,
.
beats an all-electric heart.
Delta Airlines’ new Atlanta airport rotundas are
all-electric terminals for a $500,000,000 fleet of
flying “skyscrapers.”
Some 10,000 travelers pass daily through these
rotundas in the 72-degree comfort of clean, efficient
electric heating/cooling.
They board electrically climate-conditioned aircraft
through electrically operated, air-conditioned jetways.
Their jets are energized by service connectors that
provide ground electricity for heating, cooling,
lighting, food and beverage storage. Even baby-bottle
warming.
Electricity “quick-starts” Delta’s big jets, too. In
140 seconds, electric air compressors can breathe
life into four 18,000-pound-thrust engines.
Our industrial engineers’ planning and advice have
made soaring sunward from Delta’s futuristic
rotundas an all-electric experience.
And they'll help your business fly better. Call them.
They'll wing right over and air the facts.
