The coming months at Newton
County High School will probably
seem to drag to many of us. We
are now past th® mid-point of the
school year. As we sit in the
classrooms on these beautiful
spring days we may be tempted
to scorn our lot and give it all
up. While we think the bell
will never ring, most of us know
what a good thing we have over
there. Without school we would
hardly be able to read this arti
cle, and our future would not be
very promising. But with so much
of the world’s knowledge at our
disposal now, it is a challenge
to soak up as much of it as
we can in order to use it to
achieve our goals in life later.
Many luxuries that we have,
such as hot lunches, a warm
school room, paved roads, and
school houses, are taken for
granted. We forget that we are
the first school generation that
“ever had it so good”—and that
it is the older generations that
have made it all possible.
