Thomas Edison’s Birthday Celebration
AMONG THE THOUSANDS of Georgians observing National Elec
trical Week and the 122nd anniversary of the birth of Thomas Alva
Edison are members of the senior science class at Campbell High
School in Smyrna. The cake, being served by Donna Spencer,
student, was presented to the science class by Frank Johnson, right,
manager of the Georgia Power Company’s Smyrna office. Celebrat
ing the event with them are Miss Nancy Stephens, science teacher, and
Bobby Furgusson, student. Edison and Dr. Alexander Means of Ox
ford, Ga., Invented the Incandescent light and that started the electric
power industry.
