Mr. Nelson said that more
production lines would be plac
ed in operation in the Covington
plants in the near future.
He told the press conference
of many new innovations in which
Mobil is now engaged. One of the
most fascinating new products to
be produced by Mobil will be dis
posable tableware. ‘‘We have a
market for these products, such
as plates, eating utensils, cups
and tablecloths. Institutions, hos
pitals, schools and homes, could
use disposable products on the
dining table and then everything
could be folded up in the table
cloth and thrown In the trash
can,” he added. All agreed that
this would make the housewife’s
work more pleasant.
The bag production of Mobil,
which is an integral part of the
local operation, will be expand
ed, Mr. Nelson stated. Here
again, the housewife will be the
benefactor of safely storing all
items in the kitchen via Mobil’s
new line of bags. ‘‘Baggies” is
already one of the most famous
of the products sold in all stores
by Mobil Chemical.
