Jamestown Club
Hears Newton
Comm. McCart
The Jamestown Neighbor
hood Club met Tuesday, May 13th
at 7:00 PM at the Kelly’s Club
house with fifteen members pre
sent. Reports of projects from
the Recreation and Beautifica
tion Committees were adopted by
the Club.
Guest speaker for the evening
was E. M. McCart, County Com
missioner from District #l. Mr.
McCart discussed county servi
ces available for Jamestown citi
zens and how they could parti
cipate in receiving service.
Progress on the recreation
park is most exciting with plans
underway for use of the park in
the immediate future. The group
invited all persons Interested and
participation in this project.

to be used to roof a cabin in Oconaluftee Indian Village
at Cherokee. Using a frow and wooden mallet as his
basic tools, he splits the shakes from mountai n oak.
The Village, a full size replica of a Cherokee community
