A former Covington resident,
dynamic Anlce Wismer Johnson
Is blazing a trail in the Ohio
Legislature in Columbus, Ohio.
Mrs. George Johnson is the
first woman from Pottage Coun
ty to be elected to the state Leg
islature. Anlce was elected last
November In a landslide victory
over the Democratic Incumbent.
Her election was the first vic
tory for a Republican legisla
tor In Portage County In the past
six years.
County political pundits under
estimated the power of a woman
when they predicted that a wo
man simply could not win unless
carried In on a national land
slide. In the November election
Hubert Humphrey took the coun

Anlce tolled 2,000 more votes
to win the seat In the Legisla
