It’s not that the passing game
has been bad; it has been ade

been a fine group of ball carriers

Interestingly enough, only one

Braves Need Hot Streak In September
Possibly you may not have realized it, but the Atlanta Braves
have not been more than three games out of first place all season
long. A hot streak in September would put the Braves into the
Divisional Championships in the National League. . .President
Richard Nixon picks the Chicago Cubs and the Baltimore Orioles

Pros vs Colleges In Local Areas
It was interesting to read of Miami University Coach Charlie
Tate’s observations of Professional football gradually killing off
college football in the Miami area. College folks have long felt
that this would happen, and no better example could be pointed out
than in the Los Angeles area. Southern Cal and UCLA are already
playing before smaller crowds than five years ago. It could happen
in Atlanta, too . .. Henry Aaron says that when he retires he would
like to try managing a team or take a front office position in base
ball.

Vandermeer Hurled Consecutive No-Hitters
You may have noticed that the Atlanta Falcons are using the famed
college “I” offense this season. This type of offense is seldom used
by the Pros . . . You may wonder just how long night basebaH has
been played in the National League. Take for instance the very
first night game played in Brooklyn (June 15, 1938). In that game
Johnny Vandermeer pitched his second consecutive no-hitter against
the Dodgers ... Terry Hyatt and Blunt Patterson have been approach
ed relative to playing softball next season with a standout team in
Winston-Salem, North Carolina. These two men were the main
battery for the Porterdale team this past year.

Which is the harder task: re-folding a road map or putting tooth

The Jets won 37-14.
