Available For
Quota Deer Hunts
Game and Fish Commission
Director George T. Bagby an
nounced today that additional per
mits will be available for certain
limited quota deer hunts
on Georgia wildlife management
areas. These permits can be ob
tained by picking them up on a
first-come, first-served basis
the day before the hunts are
scheduled to begin.
Areas where additional per
mits will be available are
Piedmont Experiment Station,
open December 30 for hunting
antlerless deer only; Lake Burton,
open December 29 for the taking
of deer of either sex; Coleman
River, open December 6 for the
taking of deer of either sex;
Chattahoochee, open December
6 for taking deer of either sex;
and Cedar Creek, open December
29 and 30 for taking antlerless

Bagby said that the openings
resulted from too many hunters
applying for permits to hunt in
certain areas, and too few hunters
applying to hunt In those areas
where vacancies occurred.

Year-Old Course
ATLANTA (GPS) — The first
full year of operation of the 18-
hole golf course at Hard Labor
Creek State Park, located about
two miles north of Rutledge in
Morgan County, has been ex

during that period, the director
said.
The golf course, the second to
be constructed within Georgia’s
far-flung parks systems (the first
was a 9-hole course at Little Oc
mulgee State Park, Mcßae, built
a few years ago), is situated ab
out 50 miles east of Atlanta via
U. S. 278 and Ga. 1-20. The fa
cility Includes a clubhouse with
a well-equipped pro shop and
snack bar.
Hard Labor Creek State Park
rapidly is becoming a popular
recreation area with Georgians
who like to combine camping
with golfing. For golfers who
have not yet caught the “camp
ing bug,’’brand-new cottages will
be available for rent in early sp
ring of 1970, it was pointed out.
