POST found that while the
troopers were not explicitly told
to cheat by their instructors, they
had no intention of sidestepping
the rules.
“We know what we heard,” said
Cordell, who noted that the test
had not been proctored, as all
other exams had been. “And we
were taught to follow instructions
or we’d be doing push-ups.”
Ayers said POST takes de-certi-
fication seriously.
Griffin Area Concert Association
cancels spring concerts
The board of directors
of the Griffin Area Concert
Association recently made
the decision to cancel the
remaining concerts in its
2020-2021 season. The TW
Jazz Machine was sched
uled for March 25 and The
Everly Set was to take the
stage May 13. Both have
now been canceled.
“This decision was
made for the safety of our
patrons, performers and
volunteers. With COVID-19
cases and deaths still
increasing in our area and
with the very limited seat
ing even available at the
Griffin Auditorium due to
the COVID-19 restrictions,
the board felt it was only
prudent and practical to
cancel these remaining
concerts,” said GACA
President Lewis Brewer.
The GACA board is in
discussions with perform
ers for the 2021-2022
season to hopefully
begin in the fall of 2021.
More information on the
2021-2022 season will be
announced later.
“For now, the GACA
board asks everyone to
please continue to wear
masks, wash hands, social
distance and get the
COVID-19 vaccine when
eligible to help defeat this
virus and so we can all
gather once again for live
concerts,” said Brewer.

Beyond “Death Do You Part”
“I am my love’s, and his desire is for me.”
Song of Songs 7:10
Are you a wife who has a death grip on your husband or
vice versa? You’re so desperate to see your marriage through to
“death do you part”, that you go through the whole relationship
with white knuckles. You hold on so tight that you squeeze all
the love and fun out of your relationship.
The Bible compares our relationship with Jesus to a marriage.
He is the groom and we are His bride. I think we sometimes
go through our relationship with Jesus the same way. Trying to
have the security of our salvation with good works and duties
faithfully fulfilled. That is false security. Yes, we should do those
things, but that doesn’t seal God’s love for us or our salvation.
His love hinges on His faithfulness and not ours. And that mar
riage is far beyond “death do you part”!
