The Pike County Board of Education is accepting let
ters of interest from individuals who desire to be consid
ered for the vacant District 1 seat. The appointment will
begin on March 9, 2021, and will be for the remainder of
the term, which expires on December 31, 2022.
To be eligible for appointment, candidates must meet
the following qualifications:
•Be a Georgia citizen
•Be a resident of Pike County for at least
12 months and reside within District 1
•Be a qualified voter
Disqualifying circumstances include, but are not lim
ited to, being employed by or serving on the governing
board of any private education body or institution or being
employed by Pike County Schools or the Georgia Depart
