Buried or Planted?
“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor
lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but re
joicing comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
It’s spring! Everybody is planting, working in their flower beds
and looking forward to seeing the growth and new life. Have you ever
stopped and thought about the life of a beautiful flower as you lay that
bulb in a deep dark hole? It’s placed in a dark place and completely
covered with dirt. Then, the spring rains come, if they don’t come, we
put a sprinkler on the fresh tillered soil where our bulbs lay beneath.
Within a few weeks, a little sprout breaks through the ground. As it
gets light and heat from the sun, it grows into a beautiful flower.
Sometimes when we find ourselves in a dark place in life, it seems like
the storm will never end. The downpours of rain just keep coming
from every direction. We feel as if we’ve been buried, but perhaps
we’ve just been planted. Remember it takes a little rain to make the
flowers grow. Soon, the SON will shine through.
