In His Hands
“Jesus knowing the Father had given all things into
his hands, and that he was come from God, and went
to God.” John 13:3
When I was a young child, my mama and others would sing to
me, “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands”. I always pictured
Jesus holding a world globe in His hands. Everything on earth was
in His hands, safe and secure. Over the years, it’s like that beautiful
globe that Jesus was holding began to crack. As the years passed, it
seemed to crack more. Now, I picture Jesus still holding that globe
in His hands, but it no longer looks like a globe. It’s all broken into
pieces and Jesus looks so grieved. He still has us in His hands, but
it’s a broken world. Truly, it’s a broken world cradled by a Savior. But,
as the song says, “Not for long, not for long.” One day, God is going
to say, “Enough is Enough!” He’s going to look at King Jesus and say,
“Son, go get my children!”. Are you ready? We all know broken things
don’t tend to last long.
