Corrected
“For whom the LORD loves He corrects,
just as a father the son in whom he delights.”
Proverbs 53:12
Usually when someone corrects us, we get defensive or try
to come up with excuses. We may even resent the person who
corrected us and live in an area of bitterness for a while. This
is a dangerous place to be because the enemy is camped out
there and is ready to put gasoline on that fire!
Did you know that when God corrects us, it is His way of
letting us know that He loves us? He cares about us so much
that He wants what is best for us. Often times, because we are
flesh and blood, we don’t see the consequences that are coming
to us for our actions; but God knows all and sees all and isn’t
willing to let us harm ourselves. So the next time God corrects
you or the Holy Spirit convicts you; don’t confuse correction
with condemnation. God is for you, not against you.
