ceremony on May 14 in
the Johnny Mize Ath

Georgia. They are the
first to graduate from the
institution since its name
changed from Piedmont
College to Piedmont Uni
versity in April.

In order to be eligible
for honor roll designa
tion, a student must
have completed at least
12 graded hours for the
semester and may not be
on academic probation
during the semester.

Shorter University Dean's List
Shorter University
has announced students
named to the dean’s list
during the spring semes
ter of 2021. To achieve
this honor, students must
have been enrolled full
time and have earned at
least a 3.5 grade point
average for the term.

into a National Science

search Experience for
Undergraduates (REU)

projects this summer,
including one from Pike
County. Whether their
experience is conduct
ed virtually, hybrid or
in-person with safety
protocols, students will
develop their research
skills alongside other
undergraduate and
graduate students.

participate as students
in the Department of
Energy’s (DOE) Visit
ing Faculty Program
(VFP) for 10 weeks this
summer at Los Ala

tory. Spurlock is a 2021
graduate with a degree
in physics and has been
accepted into graduate
school at Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical Univer
sity in Daytona Beach,
Florida.
