On the 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks
on America, we pause to remember the tragic events of that
day, honor the memories of those who perished and recognize
the first responders who risked their own lives to save others.
Nearly 3,000 people
were killed on
September 11, 2001.
It was the single largest loss
of life resulting from a foreign
attack on American soil.

9/11 Day was created in 2002 as
a nonprofit organization with the
support of the 9/11 community
and a mission to “rekindle the
extraordinary spirit of togetherness
and compassion that arose in the
immediate aftermath of the 9/11
tragedy, and to inspire Americans
and others to do good deeds that
help to create a better and more
peaceful world.”
