The Federal Judge Will Be Warmly Wel
comed to Atlanta.
AtlXsta, May 10.-—The bar of this
city has taken preliminary steps to ten
der Associate Justice Jackson a banquet
and reception upon the occasion of his
visit to this city on the 23th inst. to
hear arguments in several railroad cases
which are to come before him. Com
mittees have been appointed, and the
lawyers of Atlanta will extend the jus
tice a greeting worthy of the distin
guished jurist’s calling.
Heavy Hall at Lothair.
Loth air, Ga., May 10.—This place
was visited Sunday evening by a heavy
wind and a terrific hail storm, blowing
down trees and fencing. The hail stones
covered the ground, and being unusu
ally large, generally the sice of peaches
that were beaten off the trees t and some
as large as hen eggs. Fruit is destroy
ed and gardens and crops badly dam
aged.
