:is mercury will surely destroy the sense
of smell and completely derange the
whole system when entering it through
the mucous surfaces. Such articles
should never be used except on pre
scriptions from reputable physicians, as
the damage they will do is ten fold to
the good you can {Ntssibly derive from
them. Hall’s Catarrh Cure, manufac
tured by F. J. Cheney A Co., Toledo, O.,
contains no mercury, and is taken in
ternally, acting directly upon the blood
and mucous surfaces of the system. In
buying Hall’s Catarrh Cure be sure you
get the genuine. It is taken internally
and is made in Toledo, Ohio, by F. J.

Baptist Picnic.
The Baptist Sunday school in their
annual picnic met at Johnson Park on
last Saturday about 200 strong. The
day was perfect, the children all in good
humor, and the dinner one of the finest
ever seen on such an occasion. All ex
pressed themselves as being perfectly de
lighted, and many said that it was the
most enjoyable picnic that they ever at
tended. The entire school including
superintendent and pastor feel under
lasting obligations to Capt. Johnson for
kindnesses shewn during the day.
Weeds in Walks.
Kerosene oil will kill them hut that is
quite expensive. Here is a cheaper
plan: Boil four pounds arsenic and
eight pounds of soda in 12 gallons of
water, add to every gallon of this three
gallons of cold water and while the
liquid is yet warm carefully springle it
over the walks. Do this in fine weather
when the walks are dry so that the
weeds and seeds may have the full ben
efit of the application. Do not let any
of the liquid fall on the leaves or roots
of any plants you do not want to kill.
Every weed will be killed within 24
hours from the time the poison is put on
the walks, and one thorough application
will keep the walks clean all the sum

Quite a number ot Waycross people
are making en paries in regard to S?uwa-

small advertisement in these eolumns
about the size of a saddle blanket would
be of great benefit to the springs.
Editor Allen, of Tifton was present on
Sunday.
J. L. Grady, of Blackshear, was a veri
table sunbeam in the convention. His
whole soul is in the work.
Among the proxniuent workers who
were present and helped to make the
