The house passed, by unanimous con

Immediately afterwards Mr. Catch-

Speaker Crisp—Well, if it’s agreeable
on all sides, I am ready to move that

There was free realizing by those who

much steam was on yesterday.
Fluctuations were wide and the ten

house, upon the call secured by Mr.
Bynum.
It was the second effort, made withiu
a week, to drive the house members of
the conference committee from their
position, and force them to terms on the
plan proposed by senate members.
The call was issued without consult
ing either the speaker or Chairman
Wilson, both of whom deprecated the
caD, Mr. Wilson, with the other honse
conferes, resenting it as an unwarranted
interference on the part- of the honse
with the business of the conferes, aud
Speaker Crisp regarding it as fatal to
tariff reform, as advocated iu the Wil
son bill, and, virtually, surrendering to
the demands for protection, as incorpo
rated in the senate amendments.
The speaker aud Mr. Wilson, howev
