' The movement, inaugurated
at Gettysburg; when the Phila

Division met for the second
time, to erect a monuraeut on
that field to American heroism,
has not been allowed to stop.
A considerable sum has been
contributed for the purpose and
committees appointed to carry
the idea into effect. When
erected it will be the most no

on the field, even though it be
the smallest.
. The movement among the

a new form in Pennsylvania.
The wholesale dealers have

using the boycott as a means of
forcing those who do not wish

Senator J. H. Dilworth, .of
this district, came down from
Atlanta Saturday morning and
returned Sunday night. He
informs us that the Bast Geor
gia, and Florida railroad has
been re-chartered, and that the
Plant system will have to bnild
or get out of the way for those
who will. The road is already
graded from Harts Road to a
point on the B. & W. road, and
besides part of the bridge across
Satilla river is built, and the
material for-tho completion of
the same' is on the ground.
The other charter under which
the work was prosecuted, has
expired, and hence the granting
of a new charter. The parties
interested mean business and
will stand no foolishness.
They, propose to give the S. F.
& W. a chauce to ‘complete tho
road under-certain conditions,
and if they refuse to Comply
with the same, then the gentle
men named in the charter just
granted will proceed to fiinish
the road as time, talent and
money can accomplish it.
Every man along the whole
line is named in the instrument,
and they will not sell out as
their predecessors have done.
They intend to work with all
their might until the enterprise
is an accomplished fact. Let
the good work go on.—Bruns

•‘It does indeed,” replied the doc
tor, ‘‘and we have never seen any
thing like it before.” “Then," said
the lady, “my case would be a
study after I am dead, would it
not?” “What do you mean?” ask
ed the doctor. “I mean,” said the
lady, “that if you could get my
body after I am dead and study
the case, medical science might be
benefited.” “It would, indeed.” re
plied the doctor, a bright smile
spreading over his face. The lady
then astonished the two gentlemen
by offering to give them her body
after death. At first the physicians
would not listen to the proposition,
hut the lady insisted, and calling
her husband, consulted with him
about the matter in the presence
of the doctors. Of course the hus
band would not consent. The lady
insisted, and finally succeeded in
overriding not only the objection
of her husband, bnt that of the
physicians who sided with him.
That evening a lawyer was sent for
and a deed of gift of her body to
the physicians to be used for
scientific purposes was made out
and signed. After the signing the
lady appeared happier and better
than she had for weeks. ' On the
next day she began to improve,
and in a short time astonished all
by getting well. After recovering
her health she- became uneasy
about the deed of gift she had
signed, notwithstanding the fact
that the deed was returned to her,
finally prevailed on her husband
to move away from Augusta, say
ing that she feared her body would
betaken from the grave if she were

Birmingham, Conn., Sept.
26.—A young man named

time at work upon a machine
which has excited the curiosity
of his friends. On Saturday
afternoon he told the Sun cor

great problem of perpetual mo

will run until the material of
which it is composed have worn

gas or electri<- batteries, though
be doos not deny that electricity
is the motive power, though it
is obtained by natural means,
and not by the aid of acids or
chemicals. The power can be
applied to the propulsion of ma

steam. The machine has been
completed for several days, but
the young man could not mus

until Saturday. It is under
lock and key and will he kept so
until he has obtained patents

In an interview Mr. Wither
