Sheriff Robinson, of Charlton
county, came up last Tuesday
evening with n prisoner from that
county, Mr. Chas. F. Lee, charged
wiih tlic murder of a negro, near
Okefecnokco swamp, whom lie
lodged in the Ware county jail
to await trial at the November
term of tho Court. The evidence
is circumstantial, nnd while we
might express aiv opinion wo will
not, leaving that for the jurors to
do. Sheriff Robinson, wc found
to be a clever gentleman and a con-
scicntious'oOiccr, always ready to
do his duty according to law.

road duty and that the hands
have refused to work. Wo recom

the duties, which will devolve up
on me, as principal, without
mature consideration; but, to the
contrary, I have, surveyed the ad
vantages, pro and con, from alpha
and omega, and hare been unable
to formulate any reason why,
your town with its vim and go-a-
beadativeness, is net preeminently
adapted, to a systematic graded
school. This cannot be estab
lished by your Honorable Board
or principal, collectively or indi
vidually, without the unswerving
support from the patrons of
your Commonwealth.
If wo have the same, ere long,
Waycross can boast of an institu
tion, that will challenge favorable
comparison with any of its con-
temparories.
I would especially urge tlie pa
rents t>r guardians, to enter their
students at tho school incipicncy.
This will aid us very materially
in the consumation of our plans
for the gradation of our school,
and you will realize no discrimi
nation for studies, on the part
of the student, whose initial steps
were taken simultaneously with
his colleagues.
Let us labor as one man for the
amelioration of your children, s o-
cially, intellectually and morally,
