parlies passed through this suc
tion of the country, represent

with a certain photographic in
stitution at Thomasville,. and
induced some of our friends to
allow them to make negatives,
promising to t have - pictures
made from same and forwarded.
The negatives were taken, in
some cases the money paid, but
up to date no photos have ever
been received, and our confi
ding friends are repenting at
leisure. Now, we desire to stale
that we do not believe the pub
lic will be imposed upon by
Prof. Lanier, who will shortly
visit different parts nfthe country
for the prrpose of taking negatives
to be finished up in j this . ton-in.
The names attached to his card, in
this issue will show how he stands
in this city, and he could furnish
other comen datious if it n as nec
essary. We have already an
nounced that we intended|to get up
and illustrated edition of the Heau-
I.IGHT at some time in the near
future, and as Mr. Lanier will he

parties contemplating space in
that enterprise, a better chance for

Mr. William Chancy, about eight
miles from town lost liis wife last
Sunday, and she was
buried last Monday. She leaves
an infant in which giving birth
she lost her own. The bereaved
husband has our sympathy.
Engineer Potter, of Brunswick,
came up to see n young lady in
town last Sunday, and although
the ‘'Potter” - is deeply smitten by
the fascinating manners of said
young lady, and she with him,
we have not heard of any marriage
licens e being granted.
Miss Annie Chase, of Folkston,
is teaching school, near Hilliard,
Fla. Parents who entrust their
children to her teaching may ex
pect them-to receive both intellect
ual and moral training. Sister
Annie is an accomplished lady and
a devoted Christian.
