Miss Alma Hightower, aged years, died yesterday morn ing at 4:05 o’clock at the resi dence of Mr. and Mrs. (J. A. Fretwell, 117 Albany avenue, af ter an illness of three weeks witli fever. Miss Hightower and sister had been staying with their sister, Mrs. Ed. Fisher in the country, and came to Way cross to visit Mr. and Mrs. Fret- well. She was taken sick the day after her arrival, and at first no.alarm at her condition was felt, as it was thought to be a slight bilious attack. How ever, site grew worse and for the last three er font- days her con dition became alarming, and, at tiie time above stated, Iter soul (Hissed into tiie great beyond I lie deceased Mats a daughter of Rev. B. W. Hightower, who formerly resided in Waycross, hut who now lives in L:..'.tye“e county, Fla , and owing to the great istance from the railroad to wv.ere ho lives, the family could not lie apprised of the voting lady’s sad death in time for them to attend the funeral. Miss Hightower was a highly respect ed. Christian young lady, and her untimely death, under such peculiarly sad circumstances, is very much regretted. The re mains were interred in Kettle (’reek cemetery this morning at 10 o'clock. Dive Us The County.
