ed that the Japanese made a
great mistake in failing to follow
up their victory after the last
complete repulse ot the Russian
attack. Opinions differ whether
the present situation indicates a
lull or the end of the battle. A
correspondent with Gen. Oku
says that owing to the slowness
of their advance, the Japanese
failed to cut off the Russian
treat, which was conducted with
great skill. Russian cavalry on
the Japanese left crossed the
Run river, thus preventing any
