Thursday night the oper ation was performed and on yesterday morning Miss D’Au vergne seemed quite bright un der the circumstances and talked to those around her.’ Very soon, however, thosp who wgre anx lously watching around her bed side could see that her young life was slowly ebbing away. From the time of the unfortu nate accident up to a few mom ents befol-e she died, Miss D’Au vergne seemed perfectly consci ous. Her death is one of' the saddest that has occurred in Waycross in a long time. She was just entering into woman hood, being 18 years old; had a'large circle of friends in the city. Her untimely taking away, and under such peculiarly sad circumstances, was a great shock to the family, relatives and friends. The funeral will be held at the Presbyterfan church at 3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, nnd will be conducted by Rev. R. A. Brown. Tho de ceased is survived by her father, Mr, A. L. D’Auvergne, and three sisters, Mrs. 0. C. .Furlong, of Savannah, Mrs. R. L Mitchell, of Chicago, and Miss Lillian D’Auvergne, of this city. All the members of the family were at her bedside when the end came except -Mrs. Mitchell, who is now on her way here from Chicago, nnd who is expected to arrive tomorro v morning. Hon. W. G.
