VVE FEEL SOMEWHAT
EMBARRASSED
By the compliment* being paid us
by tome of our substantial patrons...
Well, there is one thing sure, and
that Is, it it makes us blush we will
not let It increase the size of our
heads or diminish the size of our
hearts.
The truth Is it will help us to be
still more strenuous In our efforts to
serve the public right, for we believe
a good name Is more preferable, If
seasoned with the saving salt of a
clear conscience than would be much
ill-gotten gain.
We started out In the beginning
with the determination that the peo
ple of Waycross and surrounding
country should realize that our meth
od of doing business would make it
really unnecessary for us to .even
quote prices, knowing that we will
always sell them goods as low as can
be done to realize a legitimate and
living profit. Don't take our word for
It, but just ask those who have traded
with us, both In town and country,
and tee what they have to say about
it, and If after trying us a while and
you find you are not saving money,
drop us like you would hot coals In
summer time, and trade elsewhere.
That's the way we do at
THE CASH GROCERY.

RIFLES EXCURSION.
Big Crowd Carried to St. Augustine
On Annual Picnic.
Nine coaches, almost entirely fill
ed with excursionists, composed the
“Rifles special" tt> St. Augustine this
morning. The crowd was a jolly one,
and every one was looking forward to
another one of the delightful outings
which are always found on‘the annual
picnics of the Waycross Rifles.
The attendance today was slightl;
smaller than hast year, but the mini
her will more than be made up by
Folkston people who will board the
train at that place. It is said that
between lOrt and 150 tickets had been
sold at Folkston, and two special cars
had been reserved Tor their
Quite a number of people also came
over from Blackshear this morning
and went through to St. Augustine on
the special.
The exact number of tickets sold
from Waycross were 262 wholes and
42 halves, against 200 wholes and "G
halves last year.

Letter to Commissioner W. S. Booth.
Manor, Ga.
Dear Sir: Mess. Leach man & Ed-
elln, Grafton, W. Va., had been selling
a paint, which they thought well of;
'nd this had occurred:
They had sold a customer 18 gal
lons of It to paint his house. A few
years later, they sold the same man
Devoe lead-and-zlnc the same number
of gallons to paint the same house.
He had seven gallons left.
Th£ point of the tale is: 11 gallons
Devoe paints an lp gallon house.
Of course that Isn't all.
Why does 11 gallons Devoe go as
far aa 18 gallons of other paint? Be
cause It Is all paint, all true, no sham,
and full measure.
But that Isn’t all. Devoe lasts lon
ger. No, no, you haven't got to wait
ten years to find that out. Ten thou
sand people know It. We’ve got
their names. Our agents know them.
They think a heap of Devoe. There’s
no difficulty In showing your towns
people what to expect of Devoe. $10
will paint a $15 house; and the paint
’ll last twice as long.
Yours truly,
F. W. Devoe ft Co.
