at the church. The financial and splr-
ltual condition of the church were re
ported as being tu good condition. The

servance ot 8t. Johns' Day and no
doubt a large crowd will assemble at
Folkston. Mr. J. A. Jones will also at

Mr. Alex Sessoms, Jr., who accomp
anied hts mother to New Mexico, ar
rived In Waycross yesterday. He left
this morning for his home at Andulus-
ta, Ala. The many friends of Mrs.
Sessoms will be pleased to learn that
she Is being benefited by her stay In
New .Mexico, and they hope to see her
restored to health again.
Burglars Still Active.
Last night burglars attempted to
enter the residence of Mr. B. F. Hub
ert on Reynolds street, but were
frightened away before gaining an en
trance to the building. It Is also re
ported that attempts were made to
enter several other residences in the
city last night.

Mr. Jesse Bremer, a machinist of
this city, sailed from New York last
Monday for Colon, Panama, where he
has secured a lucrative position. The
best wishes of Jesse’s Waycross
friends go with him to his new home.
Mr. D. J. Miller, who was called here
several days ago on account-of the ill
ness of his wife, returned to St. Marys
this morning. Mrs. Miller Is at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. J. L.
Stephens, near Kettle Creek, and Is
now improving.
Col. Edwards May Run.
Col. Charles G. Edwards, of Sav
annah, according to the Morning
News, will very; likely be a candidate
for Congress in the First district to
fill out the unexplred term of the late
Congressman Lester. If Col. Edwards
enters therace it will be ofr the short
term only as he states that he will
not oppose Brannen or Sheppard for
the long term. Col. Edwards Is a son*

so that the fans now in use will not
be of any value but an equitable plan
