says in its regular-weekly issue:

products of the Alabama iron and coa
.fields to tidewater, has acquired eight

tablished in Georgia and Alabama this
year aro giving employment to many
people and the proprietors anticipate
a nice profit. Their success is giving
a great Impetus to the Industry, and
it Is predicted that next spring scores
of canneries will -be established in
tho two states. Another subject in
which the peoplo In the fanning dis
tricts are becoming moro and more
interested is that of creameries. Ono-ls
being established at Newnan, Ga., by
the farmers of Coweta county, and
there Is an agitation to launch such
an enterprise at Toccoa, in the moun
tains of North Georgia. A creamery
was recently established at Cedartown,^
Ga.

The largest of all animals are ont
tho elephants, but th« .whales. A large
elephant weighs about six tons, but
the largost whale reaches the im
mense weight of 150 tons and would
furnish four carloads of flosh and
blubber. Albout forty different kinds
of whales and dolphins are known,
and, although they live in the open
sea and look like fish, they are not
fish at all, but are true maraals breath
ing air and feeding their young on
milk, like cows and horses.
