latives in North Caolina and while

of sugar cane seed. Parties having

Mr. Silar Morton, of Egypt, Ga., is
in the city visiting his brother, Mr. T.
H. Morton, Mr. Silas Morton is about
74 years old. He visited Waycross,
about two years since and is remem
bered by many of us. Mr. Morton will
remain In Waycross a few days.

A commercial tourist stated to a
Herald reporter today that In fifteen
or twenty days there would be
great change In the business situa
tion In this state. He says the large
wholesale houses are preparing to
send out their agents and in a few
weeks they would be among us, and
that business would be greatly re
vived In this section.
Mr. George Wethers and Mr. George
Johnson, of Atlanta are spending a
short time in Waycross and paid the
Herald office a pleasant visit this
morning. ..

Under and by virtue of a power of
sale contained in a certain mortgage
executed by W. W. Sharpe of said
county to the Mayor and Council of
the City of Waycross, on the 9th day
of June 1905, and recorded in the office
of the Clerk of the Superior Court of
said county in Mortgage Book “B"
page 434, the undersigned will sell at
public outcry, to the highest bidder
for cash, at the door of the court house
of said County In Waycross, Georgia,
within the legal hours of sale, on Tues
day the 6th day of October 1908, the
following real estate, to wit:
All of lots two hundred and thirty
six (236) and two hundred and thirty
seven (237) In the 8th district of Ware
County Georgia, each containing four
hundred and ninety (490) acres, more
or less.
Said sale being for the purpose ot
paying a certain promissory note exec
uted by said W. W. Sharpe to the
Mayor and Council of the City of Way-
cross for the principal sum of $1293.60,
dated June 9th 1903, and due twelve
months after date, and bearing inter
est from May 16th 1903. at 8 per cent
per annum, together with 10 per cent
attorney’s fees; the total amount duo
on aid note being, on the day of sale,
$1293.60, principal, $350.71 interest
and $164.43 attorney’s fees, together
with costs of this proceeding; said
mortgage having been made for the
purpose of securing the payment of
;atd Indebtedness; and proper con-
•oyaneo will be executed to the pur
chaser or purchasers of said lands.
