I — We take things easy at Cowarts. j’ 7 NOTHING DOING YET IN THE GEORGIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY Atlanta, Sept. 10.—Another day of •he extra session has gone by without result./Beth Houses spynt tba entire b y !n wrangling over motion to ad- urn an! the convict question, the . : t er which the legislature were call ’d together to pass upon, was scarcely • ouched. Tne House took " recess all »lie morning practically and spent ihe afternoon in debating and voting on a motion to adjourn. The feature of the Senate sesslou was a personally conducted filibuster by Senator Knight, who spoke all day on a motion to adjourn until 9:i5 to morrow morning, and was allowed to keep the floor despite the persistent ef forts to seat him. The result, was ;:ome rather caustic criticism of Pres- j lent Flynt following adjournment, who was charged with being high handed and autocratic. The Senate simply refuses to have anything tu do with the Holder bill lu any shape or form. It looks as if It has got to be a matter of jealousy be tween the two Houses, as to whose bill shall become the law. It Is al most equally certain that the House is not going to pass any bill passed by the Senate.. The Indications, therefore point to a deadlock which nothing will untangle but sine die adjournment.
