hour when it was received, wo had no
time or opportunity of inquiring about
the details of the company or the

The iucorporators mentioned in the

Company of Baltimore, Md., ban been
spending some time In tbla state and
Northern Florida, securing lund suita
ble for pecan raising and lu looking
after the real estate holdings for the
new company.
Mr. Herman has selected Waycross
i the headquarters for the company,
because oi the uduptibillty of this
soil and climate for the pecan culture,
and also because of its nccessnhillty
to the large eastern and uortheaater:)
cities.
Mr. Herman spent some time In vis
iting and Inspecting pecan trees In this
locality before making this selection
and was greatly Impressed with the
development ( of the trees near here.
The pecan culture requires an e
pendllure of considerable money be
fore the trees reach the hearing state,

moters, who state that they expect
to leave no stone unturned In the way
of successfully conducting the pecan

Watch for Governor Gilchrist’s gen-
arons offer In Gilchrist Park. tf.
Waycross, Ga* March 12, 1909.
To the Honorable Mayor and Council
f the City of Waycross,
I herewith submit my report for tho
month of February 1909. 1 have exami
ned the entire sewer system and find
it in good condition, except the sewer
near the flush tank in front of Mr. F.
M. Laughinghouse on Gilmore street
as reported In lost report.
In examining tho sewer system
bnvo opened 44 flush tanks and find
them working perfectly ^nd have
opened 109 man holes and examined
the sewer, and find same in perfect
condition, and scarcely no sand at all
I recommend that the sewer be ex
tended on the following streets as soon
s possible. Paralel street, from F, to
Car Factory, or as far as the grade
tvlll allow, Carswell street from Owens
street to railroad or as far os grade
will allow. Remshart street from Just
across the canal where It now Is to
Fiunswlck Are. These sewers have no
flush tanks on them to flush them, and
1t will b* a great waste of money to
put flush tunks In and have to take
hem out again to extend the sewer
nd as several connections have been
nado to these sewers I fear we shall
oon need these tanks.
I recommend that the water main bo
extended to supply water to those who
ent in u petition to lost council meet-
ng. as wo have tho material on hand,
lie distunce to complete the circuit
i 3711 feet. To put in dead end It
vlll take 1350 feet.
Respectfully submitted
B. D. Finn, 8upt.
