Nww. York. April 23.—Albert Wolter
a degenerate yosib of 19 years, who
gloated over lewd plot urea and was
'crazy" about women, must die In the
electric chair for the murder of Ruth
Wheeler, a pretty I .".year old stenog
rapher. After only one hour and
ly minuted deliberation, a Jury la th-
t'ourt of Special Sessions found him
guilty of murder In the first degree
late tonight, bringing to a close a
trial marked by Its swift movement
and Its testimony of horror.
The I>oy's counsel said with eloqn*
race this afternoon that Wolter was
too tender-hesi ted to harm a cat, but
twelve men decided last night that
he strangled Rath Wheeler and thrust
her. while yet alive. In his fireplace,
where, soaked with oil. her crumpled
body writhed and burned.
With the same wax-faced Indiffer
ence that he had shown througout
the trial, Wolter evinced no emotion
when the verdict was announced.
Slept as Jury Deliberated.
With almost Inhuman complacency
he had been asleep In his cell—and
sleeping aoundly—while the Jury waa
deliberating on his fate. This waa
made known to a court attendant who
said that be had to aronse the pris
oner to bring him Into court. He
will be sentenced Wednesday.

Referring-to the above Washington

the option of the Pont office Depart

mad*. It has Ijfcd known for some
mon:bs that a change might be made
when the present lease In Southern
Hotel building expires. The govern'
ment has been pa>lng fifty dollara per
month for its present quarters and
the owners have been paying $34.00
per month for lights, leaving about
$14.00 for them in the shape of rent.
For some time the government agents
bav* been looking for new quarters
in Waycross and have been receiving
bids for the temporary quarters for
the postofflee, and the result la that
the proposition from the owners of
the LaGrande Building has been ac
cepted. Sometime since Congress'
man itrantley secured an npproprla
tlon of $75,000 for a public building
at Waycross and recently he haa bad
this amount suppllmented by an add!
tionul appropriation of $60,000. The
Government hns already iKiught and
paid for the lot corner of Kllznhetli
