While 1 deeply appreciate the purpose of these engaged In this movement as I cannot see my way at this time to become a candidate. I wish to spare them any more useless trouble. But for the conviction that certain legisla tion then in the public mind which was absolutely necessary to the per manent welfare of the people of the state I would not have entered the first race.
