guest of his brother, Mr. Tom
Bonner, last Sunday.
Misses Maud Preston and Her
ma Banks spent last Thursday at
Maxwell with relatives.
The new depot is nearing com
pletion. It will be quite an ad
dition to our little city.
Mr. Orilious Banks, of Milledge
ville, spent Saturday and Sunday
with his brother, Mr. Len Banks,
of this place.
Miss Ellen Sullivan, of Cul
loden, came up last Friday and
will spend sometime with her sis
ter, Mrs. I. T. Wyatt.
Mrs. Howard Bullard, of Mach
en, spent Tuesday evening here
with her cousin, Mrs. I. T. Wy
att, who continues quite sick.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Wyatt, of
Farrar, announce the engagement
of their eldest daughter, Mattie
Mae, to Mr. Howard Blackwell,
the wedding to occur on Wednes
day evening, December 14th, at
seven o'clock, at the home of the
bride.
Miss Wyatt is very much beloved
and is a great social favorite.

It has been sometime since a
voice from old Hopewell has been
heard, but our little village is
progressing nicely. Mr, Warren
Blackwell and brother have recent
ly built a neat store and Mr, Walk
er Blackwell has lately painted
his dwelling. Other new build
ings have been erected since our
last letter and things around here
