Newman and family, of Jackson, are visiting in our community, We are glad to learn that Mr. Eddie Elder will be with Jordan & Co. for another year. Miss Nora Kennon, of Hebron, was the. guest of Mrs. W. K. Shaw from Sunday until Tuesday. Messrs John Fuller and Charlie Hunnicutt, of Putnam, are visit ing Mr. and Mrs. W. H., Whitten, Mr. Woddie Cook and Miss Lot tie Cook, of Aikenton, spent Snn ‘day with Mr, Walker McGhee and family. Mr. Willie Whitten moved to his new home near Magnetic Springs Tuesday. We regret to lose Mt. Whitten and his family but wish them success. Rev. L. A. McLaughin's many friends regret to see him leave, He has worked faithfully during his stay of two years here. We extend a hearty welcome to our new pastor, Rev. W. E, Venable. Mr. J. W. Burke Powers and Miss Oma Benton, of Monticello, were quietly married at the home of the bride last Wednesday in the presence of a few friends and relatives. Mr. Powers is the old est son of Mr.and Mrs. G. T. Powers and is a young man of fine business qualities.
