ASLEEP IN JESUS,
On April Ist, 1910, Mrs. Mary D.
Ezell departed this life. She was
the devoted wife of IHon. C. T.
Kzell, of this place, and mother of
Dr. H. E. Ezell, of Oliver, Ga.,
Myr. Cland Ezell, Misses Bessie and
Ruby Ezell, of this place, and Mr.
Roy Ezell, of Atlanta,
No words are adequate to expreas
the loss sustained to family and
friends in the death of this good
mother.
She was in every walk of life ab
solutely true to the dictates of a
pure christian character. Her girl
hoed and early life was as beautiful
and as sweet as the choicest of flow
ers.
Very soon after marriage she
joined the Missionary Baptist church
at this place and was always all that
a pure christian life could be and
her stewardship as a church member
was to serve and obey, and the
sweet little Sabbath school class
that followed her bier were tokens
of her kindly light by which she led
others, '
In her sojourn here lived the song
she loved:
““A charge to keep I have— |
A God to glorify. |
A never dying soul to save i
And fit it for the sky.” ‘
She kept the charge. She glori
fied God. Her soul is safe and her
home is with the blessed in the
realms of peace. This is a happy
thought—a certain reality.
It is so easy and comforting to
write a memorial of the good, but
g 0 hard to frame a suitable and
truthful record of the sinful life that |
the comparison here suggested is a‘
power which advances love and rcs-4
pect for the pure simple christian
life of this beloved character. J
Ag a wife her devotion was per
fect, as & mother she was tender,
loving and true, and it is not too
much to say: She was the best wife,
best mother, best friend that carth
could afford, because she was a true
christian. All know this, for to look
into her shining face and hear her
sweet voice, a stranger could but
say: There is a pure christian wo
man,
She was born June 23rd, 1858, in
Jasper county and spent her entire
life for the upbuilding of the Mas
ter’s Kingdom on earth. In every
duty she answered its call. Her
life was a benediction for good.
Her death is but the beginning of
that life eternal in the paradise of
the God she loved and adored.
