city. He is a candidate for repre
sentative from Jasper county, with
splendid chances of election, Will
has many friends in Morgan who
would like to vote for him,—The

Mr. Joseph Hutchingon spent a
day or two in Atlanta this week.
Mrs. Henry B. Jordan and Miss
Rebecea -Jordan are at Indian
Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Greene, of
Lizella, have been on 51' visit. this
week to Mr, and Mrs. E. A. Greene.
Mr. Sam Cohen has added glass
show cases, fixtures, ete., to-the in
terior of his store which greatly im
proves the appearance of this up-to
date dry goods emporium.
Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Dorsey and
young son, William, of Griffin, were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kd Greene
Monday and Tuesday. They made
the trip in their E. M. I, car.
Dr. C. D. Jordan attended the
meeting of the state board of phar
macy held in Atlanta Monday. A
large number of applicants for state
licenses were in attendance and
stood the examination,
Hon, Willis Adams, of Elberton,
census supervisor of the eighth con
gressional district, was in Monticello
Tuesday and gave an important lec
ture to the men who will gather the
data for Uncle Sam in the county of
Jasper.
Those who enjoy athletics will be
well entertained this afternoon on
the college campus when the boys
meet to contest for representatives
to the district high school conven
tion which will be held at Madison
next Friday and Saturday.
Mr. R. S. Talmadge, who has
been contined several wecks on ae

madge oceurred on the new railroad
which he is construeting near Ocilla
and was a close shave from death,
Together with a party of friends, he
was riding over the road in a gaso
line inspection car and was travel
ing at a speed of about 15 miles an
hour when an iron bar fell off in
front of the car, derailing same. {
The moderate rate of speed at which
they were going is the only thing
that prevented more serious results,
We trust that Mr, Talmadge will
goon recover entirely.

returned home, after spending sov
eral days here with his parents, Mr.

Mobley, has returned home.
Dr. J. A. Brown and Mr. Bob
Brown were called to Buckhead last
Saturday on account of the illness
of Mr. Bob Brown’s little daughter.
Miss Nell Echolds, of Social Cir
cle, after spending the week here
with her brother and family, Mr,
and Mrs. Homer Echolds, has re
turned home.

Miss Eula Hardy, of Stark, and
brother, Mr. Byron Hardy, of
Mt. Zion, attended the Box Supper
here Saturday night, and spent the
night with their sister, Miss Telah
Hardy, at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Allen.
One of the most pleasant events
of the season was the Box Supper
given by the teachers and pupils of
the Kudora High school Saturday
night. A very good crowd was on
hand, and all seemed to enjoy it
very much. Prof. Horton, of Mon
ticello, acted as auctioneer, and a
very nice sum was realized for the
improvement of the building. Many
thanks to each and everyone for
your kind assistance.
