Last Friday afternoon from three
until five o'clock Migs Kate Bearden
entertained the little folks in honor
of her little nephew, Ell Henderson,
whose birthday it was. Many games
were played, then they entered the
dining room which was decorated
with beautiful flowers and plants and
where they found with delight the
birthday cake with six candles,
and all the ice cream and cakes they
wanted, Little El received mnny‘
beautiful and useful little gifts from
his guests, }
The Hillsboro Sunbeam Society
will give an ice cream supper at the
old Methodist church Friday night at
8 o'clock. Every one invited to come.
Miss Martha Middlebrooks, of Had
dock, is visiting her cousin, Miss
Ruby Middlebrooks.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris, of Bradley,
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. H, C.
Jetton.
Miss Essie Dorsett, of Houston
county, was the guest Saturday and
Sunday of Miss Susie Alexander.
Miss Kate Bearden is visiting her
friend, Mrs. Hillsman, of Macon.
Dr. and Mrs. Garland spent Sunday
afternoon with Round Oak relatives.
Mr. Ralph Burton is in Monticello
for a few days with his aunt, Mrs. W.
V. Shy.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Malone, Mrs.

Our Methodist minister, Brother T.
W. Ellis, moved into our town last
week from Monticello, and was hearti
ly welcomed into the community.
Misses Mamie Garland and Marie
Peurifoy spent Monday in Macon
shopping.
Mr. D. W. Bearden and family
moved out on the Stewart farm, about
ten miles from here. They will be
greatly missed by their friends here.
Mr. R. A. Trice, of Savannah, was
the guest of his brother-in-law, Mr. G.
E. Fullerton, Tuesday.

dy spent Friday with Mrs. R, S.
Bailey.
Mrs. Charlie Richards and son,
Linton, of Mansfield, are guests of
Mrs. Richards’ parents, Mr. and Mrs.
C. M. Wilson, this week.
Messrs G. L. Cornwell and H. V.
Edwards spent Sunday afternoon at
Stewart.
Messrs Fleet Leverett, of Mansfield,
Byron Hardy and Hilton Cook, of Me
chanicsville, Troy Bailey and Byron
Kdwards, of this place, spent Sunday
in Decatur and Atlanta., They made
the trip in the former’s car. While
in Decatur they spent a few hours
enjoying the Sacred Harp singing
which was an all-day affair, with plen
ty of dinner. |
After spending some time with rela
tives here, Mrs. Levora Simpson and
little Hollis Price have returned to
their home in Monticelia.

Miss Dessa Rue Ivey, of Stewart, is
visiting her sister, Mrs. J. K. Allen,
who is very ill

Aaron spent Sunday very pleasantly
at Stewart.
Mr. Roy Allen visited friends at
Gaither’s Sunday afternoon.
Miss Exie Cunard entertained a
jolly crowd with a singing Sunday
evening. All who attended had a
nice time,
Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Redd spent
Sunday with the latter’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. B. F. McCullough.
Mrs. Laura Winburn, of Covington,
visited her brother, Rev. J. J. Win
burn, last week.
Mrs. Alex Griffin and two beautiful
little daughters spent a while with
Mrs. F. W. Dorsey Sunday afternoon.
Rev. Linn, of Mansfield, filled his
regular appointment at Prospect Sat
urday afternoon and Sunday. He
spent Saturday night with Mr. and
Mrs, Farris Thornton.

next Sunday afternoon. Everybody

Mr. Charlie Robinson, of Newborn,

~ Mr. L. E. Cook, a very popular and
‘well-known citizen, died here Monday
at the home of his son, Mr. J. B.
Cook, after several days’ illness. Mr.
(Cook was 88 years of age and leaves
a host of relatives and friends to
mourn his death. The funeral was
conducted by Rev. J. H. Farr at the
Baptist church and the interment was
in the church cemetery.
