Mrs. Jas. L. Lane, Mr. Robert Lane
and Miss Louise Lane attended the
annual Singing Convention at Sandy
Creek church Sunday.
Mrs. Fannie Criddel, who has been
quite ill for some time, is somewhat
improved, to the delight of her many
friends.
Mrs. Walter Lawrence and Mrs.
Hunter Key and baby spent awhile
Monday afternoon at the home of
Mrs. J. B. Benton.
Mr. and Mrs. Grady Johnston and
baby, Kimball, Jr., of Statesboro, will ‘
be the week-end guests of Mr, and
Mrs. Jas. L. Lane. Mr. Johnston will
return Sunday afternoan, Mrs. Johns
ton will remain over for a week
with homefolks.

The love letters of William Pitt,
the elder, the first Lord Chatham,
dre soon to .be published. Pitt’s
private correspondence has been al
most unknown to the public, though
many brilliant epistles and some of
historic importance are included.
They have been retrieved in the
LRecor«’l office, edited by Ethel Ash
ton Edwards, and are soon to be is
sued in book form.

of the Methodist church will be held
at Midway church, Kelly, Friday,
