‘“Miami greatly appréciates the
spontaneous sympathy which has

as expressed by President Collidge.
In the six days that have passed
since the storm this City has come
back with a speed that is absolutely
amazing., No one who has not been
on the ground checking up the prog

and night, with very little sleep, tens
of thousands of men and women
have co-operatively labored, not only
to relieve the suffering, to feed the
hungry, to house the homeless, but
to repair, to rebuild and to remove
the debris left in the wake of the

“I want to give positive assurance
that our friends will find Miami this
Winter the same enjoyable, hospita

has always been. I predict that
Miami will make a World comeback.
The people here have the enthusiasm,
the will to do, and unshaken faith
in the future of this great city. It
is the same people who have created
the fastest growing city in Ameriea
who are now turning their energies
and enthusiasms to the work of re

LET’S MAKE AN OFFERING
Once there was a little boy who
had a dog that he loved dearly, and
on one occasion when fhey had com
pany for dinner the little boy went
into the dining room and took the
platter containing the turkey from
the table and started to the back
door. His mother stoped him and
asked where he was going. He re
plied: “I am going to give this to
Fido.” His mother made him bring
the turkey back and place it on the
table, and after all had eaten the
boy took a plate and gathered up the
scraps and took them to his dog say
ing: “Fido, before dinner I had you
an offering, but now I have a col
lection.” God never said unto me
a ‘“collection,” but make unto Me an
“offering.”

carry out the mission of the church
by passing around the hat and tak
ing a collection of the fragments of
what we owe God.
This world belongs to God, He
made it; we are His tenants. No
where in the Bible can we find where
God says that He has given this
world to man. He has only givén
him dominion while he occupies it.
God has always retained his title to
the earth. Let us remember that
while we live upon His earth that a
tithe of our increase is His, we bet
ter not misappropriate what He says
belongs to Him. O, you may say
that you do not believe in tithing,
God’s law says we should tithe, and
when Christ came into the world He
said: “I came not to destroy the
law.” Read what is said by Mal. 3:10
and Matthew. 23:23.
There are twe classes that do not
believe in paying God his share, one
the sinner, the other, the member
of the church that does not realize
his obligation to God. There are
two classes of people that do believe
in tithing, one the man who hopes to
buy his way into heaven by so doing,
the other, the christian man who
