e’en party in honor of her twelfth
birthday, Saturday, October 30th.
The house was elaborately dec
orated in yellow and black. Hal
lowe’en motifs of black cats, bats,
witches and jack-o’-lanterns, were
objects of interest to the children.
A lighted birthday ecake formed
the central table decoration in the
dining room.
Both indoor and outdoor games
were enjoyed. After the games,

delicious ice cream and cake. (

The many friends of little Miss
Saralyn Sammons are pleased to
learn that she continues to improve
from a mastoid operation and will
soon be able to return home.
Master Chas. Ridley, Jr., of Ma
con, spent the weéek-end with his
grandmother, Mrs, Willie Ridley and
Mijss Mattie Thom.

ville, Fla., the guest of Mr. and Mrs.
Alva Lancaster.
A poor farmer digging in the dry
bed of a river near Tsenchow City,
China, was amazed to unearth an
ancient coffin of tiles decorated with
chariots and warriors in bas-relief
and containing a number of curios.
The farmer reported to the magis
trate, who sent scholars to view the
find. They said the coffin was a
relic of the Chow or Chin dynasty of
3,000 years ago. On the front of
the coffin is an inscription translated
to read: “Drawn and Written by
Kuo Kung.” The relics were re
moved to the district Yemen.
