A Brog Farmer. l
Mr W. F.Bragg, of Haynevilles
Houston county, was in Hawkius-f
ville Saturd.u_y last, selling some ufi
the products of his farm, He had ‘
472 pounds of hams, 383 pounds
of shoulders ard 367 pounds of‘
lard, all of which was from hogs ot
his own raising. He had no difii-‘
culty in disposing of these things,
for they are all strictly first-class —1
much hetter than the western arti
cles. They brought him about $lOO
in hard cash. He has already sold
)nhnut the same amount from the
‘pmducts of his hog pen, and has
‘about the same amouat wore to
sell. |
\ He is a “Bragg” farmer in more
senses than ove. He is a young
man, and a few years ago he waei
working for wages, and not large
wages, either, But he has energy
and determination, and he veryl
soon got where he could not afford
to work for other people. He is
independent now, and is rapidly
making his way toward still great~
er financial achievements. The
secret of his success is that he raise
cs his own supplies, works hard
himself, and requires all about him
to work the same way.—Hawking«

Mr. Vanderbiit Got In. ‘
A good story is told on one Ofl
the Maimn Central engineers, Last
summer, when the Vaunderbhilt car
was at Bangor Harbor, the man

an engine down there to take the
car to Portland. The run was
made in very quick time, and at
Brunswick the train stopped to
take on water. While there Mr,
Vanderbilt got out and said to the
engineer that he did not want him
to drive #o fast. The engineer, the
veteran Simpson, looked at him a
quarter of a minute and then said;
“I am running this train under or
ders from Pavson Tucker to be in
Portland at 1:07. It vou want to
stop here, all right. It you want
to go to Portland get in.” He got
in.—Bangor Commercial.

Did you know catarrh is a blood disease? Well it
almost invariably is, and frequently is a symptom
of inherited Llood poison. The tendency to catarth
may lay dormant in the system half a man’'s lifetime
and then suddenly become active and the disease
at once severe and troublesome,
N. C. Eowarps, Lampassas Springs, Texas
writes: “ For over four years I have been agreat
suflerer from a terrible form of Nasal Catarrh. | was
greatly annoyed with aconstant roariag in my head
and my hearing became very much impaired.
The discharge from my nose was profuse and
very offensive,and my general health
c‘T‘RRH impaired. I tried most all prominent
physicians, but theydid not cure me,
and I used various advertised preparations without
benefit,
Ithen sent to the drug store of T. E. Smith &
Bro., and parchased B. B. B, and to my utter
astonishment and satisfaction, the use of ten bot
tles has restored my general health, stopped the
roaring sensation, entirely healed and cured the
nasal catarrh, and I am proud to recommend a Ilood
remedy with such powerful curative properties.
I%e business men of our town know of my case.’
W. A. PepPEr Tredonia, Ala., writes: I can
nct refrain from telling you whata glo-
UATARRH rious medicine you have, For two
years my mother has suffered witha
severe Catarrh of the hiead and ulcerated sore throat.
She resorted to various remcdies without effect,
until she used B. B. 8., which cured her catarrh, anc
bealed her sore throat.”
R.C. KIiNNARD & SoN, Towaliga, Ga., writes:
“Oune of our neighbors has been suffering from
catarrh for several years,which resisted
cITARRH all treatment and medicine resorted to,
We finally induced him to try the
efficacy of B. B. 8., and he was soon delighted with
an improvement. He continued its use, and was
cured sound and well.”
