Last week we stated that Mr,
J. W. Gurr had made 108 callons
of syrup from a quarter of an acre
of care. It should bave been 185
gallons.
Mr. Martin Harp is here from
Atlanta, Texas, on a visit to his
relutives and friends. Mr. [larp
says he may remain several
months.
The syrup crop is Immense and
there is scarcely a demand for it at
any price. We learn that 1t is
selling at sixteen cents per gallon
in Calhoun county.

On the Superior court calendar
appears the case of “W. J. Perry
vs. the city council of Dawson.
Suit for damages.” It seems that
several weeks ago Mr. Perry had
his family to don their Sunday at

they jumped into the wagon and
the trip was made nicely enough
until the bridge was reached cross.

merchants, on Main street, have
receutly had visitors hetween the
bours of closing at night and open

terms who and what they are.

Death from Measles.
Mr Ben Sutton, a hardworking
and industrious citizen of this coun
ty, died of mealeson last Monday
morning and was buried at Sardis
yesterday. He was about seventy
years of age.
