The Committee on the Reorganization of
Our Fire Department Propose a
Plan to the Council.

the selection of a committee to make
recommendations about the reorgani
zation of the firte department of Daw

The committee met last week., It
consisted of Mayor Baldwin and Al
derman Dean on the part ot the coun
cil, Messrs, B. C. Adams and K. A.
Bishop on the part of Mechanics’ fire
company, and Messrs. C. Deublerand
F. W. Ciark on the part of Protec~
tion No. 1. fire company.
The commiitee, aiter mature de
liberation, made the tollowing recom
meoadations, which now go to the coun
cil: that the engine house on Lee
8 reet be repaired and refitted, that an
electric fire alarm system, with at
least 15 call boxes, be provided, that

consisting ot 15 tor the white compa
ny aud 12 for the negro company, be
sought, that three men be employed
at a salary tc “be on nand at the
engine house, two at night und one
in the day, that one borse be bought
to be used to pull the hose reel.
These recommendations haye an air
of business about them and the pian
sutlined will probably meet with the
approval of the ecity fathers at their
meeting next Monday night.
A Moarriage Near Bronwood.
Near Bronwood, on last Sunday,
Mr. Johu Jennings wes married to
Miss Ozella Howell at the home of
the bride's tather, Rev. M. B, L.

Rey. Thomrs Calloway Leaves “*ne Pulpit
to Enter Another.
Rev. Thomas Calloway, who has been
pastor of the Baptist church in Forsyth
for the last five years, is in the city
spending a few days with relatives and
friends.
About a week ago he tendered his res
ignation as pastor of the Forsyth church
and’ accepted a call from the Baptist
church in Dawson. Mr, Calloway is a
young preacher of great promise and has
done a good work in Forsyth, which was
the first regular pastorate he entered upon
after he left the semipary.—Atlanta
Journal.
Mr. Calloway, with his family, is ex
pected in Dawson on April first. A warm
welcome will be extended by his new
flock and the people generally.
