Notice to Farmers
Due to the recent demands made upon
us we are now operating our ginnery
both day and night. This gives more
time, and by so doing we are able to run
our gins slower, thereby turning out a
good sample and good clean seed. If
you do not get to the gin in the daytime
we can take care of your cotton at night.
Until further notice we will operate
both day and night.

valuation is $27.50 an acre.
Terrell county land is already re
turned for taxation at a higher
valuation than any of the ad
joining counties. In Terrell the di
gest shows returns at an average
Ivalue of $9.60 per acre, in Randolph
$6.90, in Calhoun $6.82, in Webster

$B.lO. No increase, as stated above,
is being demanded of the counties
gentioned, and the injustice to the
itaxpayers of Terrel is apparent.
P W, Fullbright is demanding that

ITHE MOTOR CARS
| L
|IT HAS BUILT PUBLIC ROADS
AND GREATLY INCREASED
i LAND VALUES.
! The practical utility of the motor
|car is often under discussion, that
[is whether the country accepts the
! fact that the growth of motor car
'sales has grown through the present
| almost universal adoption of the au
| tomobila as an individual unit of
transportation.
“However,” says Mr. J. W. Kenne
dy, of the Dawson Buick Co., local
dealers for Buick products, ‘the
greatest credit to the motor' car
should be from the wonderful in
creased values given to surburban
property and the farm lands through
road improvement.
“Statistics show us that in 1914
the revenue from motor vehicles in
Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Ten
‘nessee, for example, aggregated
$399,744, while in 1919 they totaled
the enormous sum of $1,957,686.
With constantly increasing vehicle
license rates, as now in Georgia, the
figures will go on increasing.
Through highway commissions this
money is constructing highways for
traffic through the length and
breadth of the South.”
“The "automobile is the same nec
essary daif§ factor in the life of the
owner as the telephone, the tele
graph or any ofgthe common utilities
of the present age—except one is
for common usuage and the other
for use at the will of the owner. It
serves to increase the unit value of
the owner and those units combined
contribute to the growth and up
building of the community.”
Mr. Kennedy makes announcement
that his company will shortly have
samples of the new 1921 Buick line,
which he says have incorporated
many new and desirable features.
ONLY SERVICES SUNDAY WERE
AT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Forceful Sermons Were Heard by
Large Congregations.
At the Presbyterian church Sun
day morning the pastor, Rev. G. A.
Grille, preached a most impressive
sermon from the text: “When the
Son of Man cometh shall He find
(the) faith on the earth?” Luke
18:8. At the evening hour Rev. Mr.
Grille based his remarks on the
story of the “rich man and Lazarus,”
Luke 16:19-31, from which he drew
some very valuable lessons. All who
heard these .gospel messages were
doubtless impresged by the earnest
ness of the speaker. A pleasing feat
ure of the evening service was a
