The fact that Williams & Davis solected and boucht these gools with

l How we Stand,
‘ Last week every body that conld
| rake up enough money went to the
I Exposition. We remaiuved at
| home satisfied to read of 14, and see
Cthe picture of Cleveland and his
{Hair Jady in the Constitution. As
we have a monied peop'e nearly
L every one went to Atlanta, (only
iiom‘,u_gh were left to fight firg if
L one should break ont in the city.)
| The erty was very dull, and no los
| eal news floati.g around. ........
| Consequently we boarded the
| trein Tuesday and went up to
{ Bronwool with the expectation of
| making a few people believe that
!we were goinz to the Exposion.
The down train was behind time, so
lwo spent a pleasant three hours
‘around the depot talking to the
' eaod people of that little eity, who,
like enrself, prefered a quiet Life nt
| home to the gay and crowdea
streets of At1avta........ .50
’ As we generally learn something
:l:v talking little and listenine to
others ta'k, <o it was our good for

wood thet onght to interest all the
farmers of tifs country—saving
potato vines. When you bed your
cane for sced, which is done betore
the eold kills tt, cut a lot 0 potato
vines and bed with it. The vives
will keep green and in the spring
when evervhody is runningz around
bezging vines to set out, you will
have plenty that are perfectly
cond. This may be an old trick, ‘
but it is something new 1o us and |
we give it, hoping that it will ben- |

We have had the Pasteur Renie-l
dy Co., here all the week, advere
tising their medicines by giving
free, opsn air concerts, and ex
treeting teeth like it was a g!'e:lti
pleasure to do so. This helped to
drive away the mogiotony of tho!
week while the boys were all gone
to the lixpositton.. coci 00, Syt
Then we were forced to remain
at home to oblize a few of our sub
scribers who could not have gotten
on without our presence. There
are a few who really would have
missed us, had we gone, for they
told us so when they came up to
say to us: (this isdone twice a week
at least.) “* ell, George; old ! oy,
I puess you think it is time T was
settling for the paper, I have been
thinking for some time about this,
and I must really attend to it and
will do s 0 in a very short while. I
have paid everybody else in town
but you, and it will be your time
next.” As little as you think of it
these friends are a great comfort
and solace to us in the hour of
duns and paying the printers.—
They learn us to look bright and
cheertul and trust in the tuture.
