I The iiajpe of Hon, Rufus E. Lester, of Bavunuali, is favorably mentioned for our next Governor. He is now in the prime of life, with a.mind vigorous and capable of grasping ttiid solving at a mo ment, any intricate subject, lie is a self-made man, and has al. ready won for himself honors and distinction as a lawyer. His record is unspotted, and his character as pure ;ts the mountain snow, e’re kissed by I’lncbus. Americas Republican. We believe that Hon. Rufus E. Lester can roll up a larger major ity iu Georgia, and more ettec- tually unite the Democratic party than any other man now mention ed for Governor. Being a young mail lip will receive the enthus iastic support of all the young men of the State. Perry Home Journal, Hon. R. E. Lester, in answer to an invitation to deliver a polit ical speech at Athens, respecfully declined to discuss the personal politics involved in the guberna torial canvass, and thus stand be fore the people to proclaim him self the ‘‘fittest man in Georgia for Governor.” This reply has, in our estimation, added to his strength.
